Yoga and mindfulness can help improve body awareness and mental focus. Meditation and breathing techniques bring calm and self-awareness. My philosophy regarding yoga is that it should be accessible to everybody. Yoga slows us down and encourages us to notice our body and mind. We begin to make connections regarding our thought patterns and habits.

The classes begin with breathwork/ pranayama, followed by a warm-up of the spine. Then we begin the poses/asana I believe in careful transitions. You will discover your expression of the pose and find the place of challenge without strain. Breathing during the pose and using the breath to increase length and space internally. Alternative options or modifications are explored to allow everyone to find a comfortable pose. This approach teaches each person individually, so you can build your knowledge and understanding. Class ends with savasana to help the body integrate the effects of the practice.

The class is one hour in length. Hatha yoga with some Kundalini-inspired movements and meditations. Music is integral to my classes; I love to research and create the right playlist that establishes the tone of the class. I select specific songs designed to inspire, motivate, or enable introspection.
