hatha yoga
The word Hatha means force, symbolically it is often translated to Ha- meaning Sun and Tha- meaning moon. It represents the union of opposing forces, active sun verses reflective moon. Yoga means union or “to yoke” – it represents the union of body , mind and spirit.
Classes

Monday Evenings from 8-9pm
Alma Studio at Attune Body Management
This class is a gentle practice to help you unwind and let go of your day. Each week we will practice a Pranayama followed by a gentle yoga flow. Poses will be held to allow your body to settle, rest, and reflect. This class will focus on activating the parasympathetic nervous system, guiding you into rest and digest. This class is suitable for all levels. The hour of practice will end with a short meditation or guided relaxation to help ease you into your evening.
Hatha Yoga
Wednesday Mornings from 10-11am
Kingston Road United Church
This is a fun energizing class where we explore poses with mindful attention. You will learn Sanskrit terminology, what the pose is doing and your expression of the pose. As it is a smaller group, individual attention can be given if you request it. Each week there is a theme or intention which can be physical or philosophical. We end with savasana.
Hatha Yoga
Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Alma Studio at Attune Body Management
This class is similar to the morning class in its sequencing and intention setting, however I am mindful it is the end of the work day and a little more time is spent in the reflective/cooling elements of the Hatha practice. Savasana is longer with quiet time to reflect.
